Convention details are at: http://www.aauw-wa.org/members/corner/index.html We will be voting on two important bylaws changes.** Make plans to have your branch represented at the convention with the full entitlement of votes for your branch. Each branch has one delegate for every 25 members, plus the president. A branch with 100 members has five delegates. This does not include any state officer in your branch as they have their own vote and cannot vote for the branch. Small Branch subsidies can be use by branches with fewer than 30 members, if the branch has not applied for a subsidy this program year. A second delegate for branches under 49 members can get a small reimbursement, as well. Information on these subsidies got to: http://www.aauw-wa.org/members/about/gov_pol_complete.html#540 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders: This conference will be held June 5-7, 2008, in Washington, DC. If you know of a female college student who would like to attend this conference, please talk to your branch president and/or send their name to nccwsl@aauw-wa.org. Branch presidents were sent information about aid from the state budget for sending Washington students to this conference. DaVina Hoyt will be an advisor with this conference again this year. Read about the conference at: www.ncccwsl.org . The Branch Futurists Award application deadline is March 31st. It is meant to be reviewed and completed with input from all branch officers not just the president and is based on the Vision and Mission statements, which Association adopted last year. This replaces the 21st Century award. ** Proposed Amendments to the bylaws: These proposed amendments require a two-thirds (2/3) vote of those present and voting at the state convention, provided written notice shall have been sent to each branch in the state at least thirty (30) days prior to the meeting at which such amendment is to be acted upon; or, if previous notice has not been given, by unanimous vote of the convention and ratification of two-thirds (2/3) of the branches.
