>  The City of Port Townsend is hosting a design workshop/charrette to 
>obtain public input on the design of intersection and street 
>improvements for Upper Sims Way from Howard Street to McPherson 
>Street and for Howard Street to Discovery Road.  The workshop will 
>be held at the Community Center at Lawrence and Tyler Streets from 
>4:00 to 9:00 and is open to the public.  For those interested, there 
>will be a site walkabout from 3:00 to 4:00.  Business owners and 
>property owners along the route as well as public officials and the 
>general public are invited to attend to provide input and ideas on 
>the design.  The workshop will be led by the city's design 
>consultant, W&H Pacific, in association with Dan Burden of Walkable 
>Communities, Inc.

>  The schedule of events is as follows:
>  Thursday May 12 - Community Center
>  3:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Site Visit (meet at Howard Street north of Sims Way)
>  4:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Introductions, project goals, and slide show to 
>introduce design ideas
>  6:30 - 8:00 p.m. - small group design sessions
>  8:00 - 9:00 p.m. - presentations of the small group designs and wrap up
