Happy Friday, everyone!

Last night's concert on the dock featured No Inhibitions Dixieland  
Jazz, and they really rocked the dock.  If you missed it, make a  
point to join us next Thursday at Quincy Street dock from 6-8pm.   
Next week, Hot Club Sandwich will bring its gypsy swing for you to  
move and groove to.  We have chairs, or you can bring your own, but  
you might not need it once the music gets started.  You just might  
end up in dance area.  Many thanks to our major sponsors Puget Sound  
Energy, Peninsula Daily News, First Fed, and Ancestral Spirits for  
making this series of great music available for everyone to enjoy.

A look at the week ahead:

TODAY:

Hadlock Days kick off with a salmon bake at Inn at Port Hadlock  
( 4pm-8pm $17) and free concert on the lawn  from 5-9pm featuring the  
Patterson Brothers

SATURDAY, JULY 14

Hadlock Days events starting with 7:30am pancake breakfast at Kivley  
Center (Nesses Corner & Chimacum Road), 11am parade (yours truly will  
be driving a suped up lawnmover) and fun activities all day long.   
The now-famous Lawnmower Races begin at 2pm at Kivley Center.

PT Marine Science Center celebrates its 25th anniversary with  
festivities starting at 2pm on the pier.  Kathleen Drew from the  
governor's office will be speaking, followed by appetizers at 3:30pm  
and a barbeque at 4pm.  If you've ever been involved with the center  
you are asked to attend and help celebrate the past 25 years.

SUNDAY, JULY 15

Hadlock Days continue with a 7:30am pancake breakfast and events all  
day including Lawnmower Races from 11am-4pm and Car Show & Shine from  
noon-3pm at Ferino's Pizzeria on Nesses Corner Road.  Come and enjoy  
great music and a barbeque.

The PT Writers' Conference starts at Fort Worden's Wheeler Theater.   
Daily readings and lectures by engaging writers.  Prices are $7 per  
event or $50 for a 10-event pass.

MONDAY, JULY 16

Chamber meeting 12pm-1pm at The Commons at Fort Worden.  Join us for  
a Port of Port Townsend Commissioner Candidate Forum.  Frank Benskin,  
Forrest Rambo, and John Collins are all participating in this  
moderated forum.  Bring your questions for the candidates and hear   
their proposals for serving on the commission.   Due to time  
limitations we will not be taking comments from the floor, and  
appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

TUESDAY, JULY 17

Chamber mixer/luau sponsored by American Marine Bank.  DO NOT MISS  
THIS ONE!  The luau will be in full swing from 5pm-7pm at the offices  
of Chiropractor Chris Davis, across Sims Way from QFC.  Come enjoy  
the mai tais and puu puu platters, music, and free raffle for  
massages and a gift basket from American Marine Bank.  Many thanks to  
Ryan Anderson  and Chris Davis for organizing this great summer mixer!

THURSDAY, JULY 18

Concerts on the Dock at Quincy Dock.  6pm-8pm.  Hot Club Sandwich  
performs.  Free.

FRIDAY, JULY 19

Noon Concerts at the Fort.  Bring your lunch and a chair and enjoy  
the wonderful music of Navy Band Northwest brass quintet on the lawn  
in front of the Commons.  Start your weekend with a joyful, patriotic  
touch.  Free.


That's it.  The heat wave is over so you can get outside and enjoy  
the return of our normal, unpredictable but cooler weather.  Have a
