Monday Sept 29th noon – 1:00 at the Fort Worden Commons – Chamber Lunch
Meeting
This week’s speaker will be State Senator Jim Hargrove. Senator Hargrove
is running unopposed for re-election, and will talk about his
accomplishments in office to date and goals for his next term.
Wednesday Oct 1st – Our new Executive Director, Rod Davis, will be
starting in his new position. We are excited to have him on board!
Other Information:
SAT Testing on Oct 4th 7am – 1:30 It's SAT testing time again and we
need proctors! There are 123 students registered to take the SAT exams on
Saturday October 4th at Port
Townsend High School. We need a minimum of eight proctors to administer the
tests. The time commitment is from 7:30AM to 1PM. The honoria is donated to
the Jefferson County Technical Trades Scholarship Fund, which is
administered by the Jefferson County Community Foundation. Please
contact Susan Grantham if you can volunteer for this worthy project.

Don’t miss the Port Townsend Farmers Market’s annual fundraising harvest
dinner, Feast of Farms at the Bishop Hotel’s garden courtyard on Sunday,
October 26th from 5 to 8 p.m. Inspired market chef, Arran Stark, will create
a bountiful three-course meal sourced from market growers and paired with
local wines. Celebrated farmer and author, Michael Ableman, will share
moving stories and photos as the key note speaker. The Feast of Farms
harvest dinner is a fundraiser to benefit the Port Townsend Farmers Market.
Tickets are $75 per person with a direct appeal at the event. Purchase your
ticket at the Market Information Booth every market day or online at

The Spirit of Endeavor cruise ship will be arriving Saturday morning at 10am
and unloading lots of folks with money to spend here till 6pm. Please ask
shop owners to stay open all day and please post a welcome poster

The City of Port Townsend has just posted the following RFQ for a new
Marketing Position:
Request for Qualifications
Marketing Position
Request for Qualifications: The City of Port Townsend is soliciting a
Marketing Contractor with experience in destination marketing.
The contractor will work closely with the City’s Lodging Tax Advisory
Committee (LTAC), Mainstreet, Chamber of Commerce and other regional and
statewide tourism agencies.
This is a one year contract and the estimated time for this position is 50
to 85 hours a month. The contract amount is $30,000.00 DOQ. Please submit
with a cover letter, 5 copies of your SOQ to the City of Port Townsend, 250
Madison St #2, Port Townsend, WA 98368 by 4:00 pm, Friday, October 24,2008.
