<x-tab> </x-tab>New York, New York - January 4, 2006 - New York's
real estate mogul and founder of the Corcoran Group, Barbara Corcoran,
is set to announce her top five picks for best places to live or
simply visit if you're looking to shed some extra weight. Corcoran
said these areas were chosen based on nine months of intensive
research. "I had nearly 3,700 competitive brokers and residents from
areas all around the country write in and suggest their top picks for
unique areas," she said, "some of them were not valid and we threw
those out, but many of them were and we carefully examined those."
The areas that received multiple, sometimes numerous nominations were
carefully considered. These nominated neighborhoods were then
researched and compared based off of number of gyms, spas and health
food stores, lack of easy transportation and fast food restaurants and
average weight per resident. Corcoran then looked at current diet
trends such as "The South Beach Diet" and the "French Diet" to
come up with other unique places to slim down. This group was then
condensed to top ten and eventually to the top five.
<x-tab> </x-tab>The top places to lose weight in 2006

and daily chores and strenuous to a beautiful French city in Canada
where meals are small and citizens walk everywhere! These top five
areas are: (5)Shipshewana, Indiana (4) Port Townsend, Washington (3)
Turnberry Isle, Florida (2) Mackinaw Island, Michigan (1) Old Quebec
