Message-ID: <62eb3b8e0606241353j302df203pe7436b01d34ebe@mail.gmail.com> Hi Folks, This is a very informal update as, as you've probably noticed, our newsletter is on temporary hiatus. First of all, I wanted to remind everyone that we will be closing the store at 901 Water St. for good at 6pm tomorrow (Sunday the 25th). We'll be closed Monday - Friday to move into our new digs and re-opening on Saturday, July 1st at 230 Taylor St. So... if you've got a special order that's waiting for you, if you want to take advantage of our 10% off clearance sale or if you just want to get one last wiff of old carpet/poster/mill smell - now's the time! This also means that any special orders that haven't already arrived will probably be in on Saturday July 1st at our new location. GRAND RE-OPENING! We will be re-opening in our new space a week from today and it's going to be a party. Vickie and Michael Townsend will be playing around noon and George Rezendes and the Dwyer Family will be playing later in the afternoon as well. There will be half-price espresso drinks all day (and night) and a free ticket to see the "independent record store classic" High Fidelity midnight at the Rose just for stopping by! If you missed our first announcement about the new space see below. Oh, and we still need one or two part-time barristas - if you are interested please send a cover letter and resume to jobs@quimpersound.com - email only please, no calls or drop-ins. Thanks - see you Saturday! And now for the biggest announcement in the storied 32+ year history of Quimper Sound. * WE'RE MOVING!* On July 1st, we'll be re-opening as Quimper Sound & The Analog Lounge in our new space in the lobby of the First American Bank Building at 230 Taylor - directly across the street from the Rose Theatre. We'll be tearing down the wall between what was (is) the Lavender Shop and what was Sol Imports and opening up the whole lobby. It's a glorious space and we're really excited about all the new things we'll be able to do for you to enjoy. A small sampling includes: *Music:* 1) Expanded selection - including more DVDs, records, imports and specialty CDs 2) Record Vault - The original (and intact) bank vault is being converted into vinyl and used CD space with a turntable/cd listening bar and a lot more new vinyl. 3) Live music - a small stage (big enough for three or four acoustic musicians) for scheduled in-store concerts and impromptu performances. *Coffee Bar:* 1) Coffee! We'll be introducing a coffee bar - complete with full espresso service and a fine selection of teas and select treats. 2) Comfort. In conjunction with the coffee bar there will be a couch, loveseat some tables & chairs and a totally chill-out vibe. 3) Play Pit. Our employees have always been "family friendly" - now our space is too. 4) Free Wireless Access *Extended Hours:* 1) We'll be open weeknights until 10pm and MIDNIGHT on Friday and Saturday night! -- Quimper Sound W.Washington's Oldest Independent Record Store Shop Independent Any Time! http://www.quimpersound.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
