Quimper Sound & the Analog Lounge
Washington's Oldest Independent Record Store
Newsletter Vol.4 No.1 2/3/07
_____
Greetings from Quimper Sound & the Analog Lounge. We're back! I think my
annual Winter break from the newsletter has gone on long enough. We've got a
bit of catching up to do, so put on a good record and keep reading...
While the new release schedule has been mostly quiet since the holidays,
there have been a couple of big ones while we've been gone - most notably
the Shins and the new Norah Jones. Things are starting to thaw out now,
though, with several interesting things coming up this week. Check 'em out
below <> . Remember, we're always happy to let you listen to anything first
- just ask.
In the "Tooting Our Own Horn" category, we were proud to be honored with a
'Sheddie <http://www.shedboyz.com/> ' this year. Best. Award. Ever.
We love Andy Mackie - so we're gonna plug this benefit for his foundation.
Dinner and auction at Manresa Castle on Wed. the 7th - tickets available at
the store. Too late for Valentines day reservations? Take your sweetie to
this event - you won't be sorry. For more information, visit the
foundation's website <http://www.andymackie.org/> .
Our used CDs and LPs are one of the biggest reasons people like shopping at
Quimper Sound, so to make it easier we've started a "New Arrivals" section
for each format. At the end of the row on your left as
you enter the store (where the Holiday music had been) you'll now find all
the 'new' used CDs that have come in the past week or so - and if you look
to the left right after you enter the Vault you'll see the best of the 'new'
used LPs that have come in. If you like to shop used (and why wouldn't you?)
then it's best to check in every week or so to see what's "new" - we get a
lot of stuff this time of year -don't miss out!
Oh, and just like I promised FIVE WEEKS AGO, we've compiled a list of Port
Townsend's best selling LPs, CDs and DVDs. So go ahead, take a peek at what
your neighbors have been buying - you know you want to.
Now I know that coffee drinking can be a ritual affair for a lot of you.
Most of us have our favorite place to go, favorite blend, favorite drink -
even favorite barista. Taste being such a subjective beast there will always
be unwinnable arguments over who has the best what - especially where
something as vital as coffee is concerned. However, we're pretty freakin'
proud of our brew. And I'm pretty freakin' proud of our crew. Our coffee and
espresso is worth a try. Don't worry - you can start small. Maybe just a 12
oz. drip w/a dash of cream - it's only a buck. Then maybe an americano. Next
time, just to mix it up, you can try a Dragonfly chai latte. Pretty soon
you'll be coming in for a quad white chocolate mocha twice a day! Seriously,
our coffee <http://www.quimpersound.com/> is that good.
If you have any suggestions (or complaints/compliments) feedback is much
appreciated - keep it coming to: feedback at quimpersound.com - thanks! And
now, on with the show . . .
